Northwest Naturals is an accredited sustainable processor of several leading pet food brands and export products. Originally founded in 1956 the family owned and operated facilities produce premium pet food products in frozen nuggets, individual 1# bars, chubs, freeze dried, freeze dried treats, all facilities are dual jurisdiction which includes FDA and daily USDA regulatory inspection every day for every shift. Currently NWN is adding over 1 million kilowatts of solar power generation to one of the facilities and another facility is already utilizing solar renewable energy panels.

MFiber is an all-natural, non-GMO cellulose fiber that comes from perennial Miscanthus Grass grown on family farms in the Midwestern United States and is manufactured with no chemical or additives. Last year, PSC and a 3rd Party performed a Life Cycle Analysis of MFiber which highlighted the 86+% increase in sustainability over powdered cellulose. This shows how one ingredient change can drastically change the environmental impact a company has. Sustainability is at the core of MFiber and we continue to work on improving sustainable consumption and production, while also focusing on our employees through decent work and economic growth.

Duynie Ingredients is Europe’s leading producer of sustainable plant-based ingredients for the pet food industry. They reduce the environmental impact of pet food by maximizing the use of raw materials/co-products and minimizing waste. Duynie successfully launched the Supplier Code of Conduct in 2021. It is important to them that suppliers commit to the goals and operate with the environment in mind, as the suppliers’ co-products are the foundation for their plant-based ingredients.

Moderna uses smart plastics to create a happy world for pets. With the support of PSC, they keep setting their goals higher every year, extending their sustainability performance to deliver meaningful purpose. Moderna will remain that future-proof partner for people, pets and our planet. They call this “betterness.”

Thanh Phu Plastic Packaging Company, a family-owned and operated integrated flexible packaging manufacturer based in Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam, is proactively invested in the growth and development of their employees by providing a safe and inclusive working environment; continuous process improvements which enable them to provide consistently high-quality products with an acute awareness of their environmental impact. They are proud of their VeloFlex family of fully-recyclable packaging solutions; with dedication and passion towards continuous process and product improvement, they strive to be better at helping brand-owners deliver on their sustainability packaging mandate.

InClover is excited to be an active participant in the Pet Sustainability Coalition. Our passion in giving back and paying forward spans 20 years and includes providing meaningful employment for over 50 persons with disabilities who average 17.9% employment rate. Providing work opportunities and mentorship for students to grow skills and knowledge. Serving on nonprofit pet and community boards and donating resources to support animals, diversity and education. Proactively improving our supply chain and packaging sustainability and offsetting over 95% of our carbon footprint at InClover. Chews Happiness is a social enterprise and business bringing wholesome, eco-friendly, sustainably sourced, beyond organic, handcrafted creations to America’s dogs, supporting indigenous herders and small farmers in developing countries. They are a proud ZERO carbon business with plant-based packaging. They are also members of 1% For The Planet and donate 1% at minimum to animal rescue.

Avanti is engaged in the manufacturing of sustainable, high quality pet products such as beds, feeding solutions and toys for pet lovers across the world. While most of Avanti’s business is focussed on OEM, they have also launched our own sustainability focused brand “Resploot” – this is an ongoing effort to reduce PET bottle waste that would otherwise pile up in landfills and oceans. They convert plastic waste into fabric to create a stylish, comfort-oriented range of pet products such as toys and beds. The toys also raise awareness towards endangered species across the globe as each toy represents endangered land and marine animals and carry a flag of the country to which they belong. The World Wildlife Fund has partnered with them on Resploot and they share part proceeds of sales.

Morris Packaging is the leading US MBE manufacturer of sustainable flexible packaging products. Speed to market, quality, and their ability to think out of the box to find a solution for their customers has driven Morris Packaging to the leader they are today in the flexible packaging industry. Morris Packaging is continuously pushing the envelope on sustainability solutions. They have increased the recycled content to 45% on large quad seal bags, developed a 50% PCR SUP, and most recently developed a new package that is 100% recyclable along with the ability to contain recycled content as well. This is all done at a price point that is competitive with multi-wall paper bags.

Nature’s Logic is a line of 100% natural pet food, treats and supplements with NO synthetic vitamins. Their mission is to “apply the logic of nature to everything we touch” which means creating all-natural nutrition from whole foods and being a voice for sustainability. For every pound of clean, 100% natural food Nature’s Logic sells, they create 1 kWh of clean, renewable energy. Many of Nature’s Logic products are packaged in Certified Plastic Neutral packaging and, in 2021, they announced they have achieved 100% carbon neutral warehousing and shipping.

West Paw is a Bozeman, Montana-based company that sustainably manufactures eco-friendly dog toys, leashes, collars, and beds. Founded in 1996, West Paw products are sold in over 6,000 pet specialty stores across the US and distributed worldwide. West Paw is a certified B Corp, Montana’s first Benefit Corporation and a founding member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition. They recently developed their Seaflex line made from recycled ocean bound plastic.

Keeping our employees safe, at work and at home also remains a top priority. We continually strive to maintain focus on our mission to provide Best in Home™ pet products that are cleaner and healthier for pets, families and the planet. Examples of our sustainability practices: We’ve been producing natural pet products from reclaimed, renewable materials for over 30 years. We upcycle millions of pounds of unused paper and wood fiber every year that may otherwise end up in landfills. We are the recipient of the Northwest Clean Air Agency (NWCAA) Gold & Platinum Awards; we are driving toward Zero Waste (TZW), and over 50% of our water used for manufacturing purposes is recycled and reused.” – Healthy Pet

Canna Companion, believes in sustainability and taking care of the planet, people, and pets. They also believe in taking a stand for what’s important. They prove that small businesses can pursue sustainable practices, have progressive policies, and greatly limit their impact on the planet, because it’s the right thing to do. They use 100% recyclable packaging for all oil and capsule products, 100% recycled cardboard for shipping, non-tree based and carbon neutral paper, and since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic they have recycled 150 lbs of company-issued PPE.
