The Pet Sustainability Coalition is looking for an enthusiastic, professional and experienced Project Manager who will be responsible for member support to integrate sustainability into their overall business strategy. They will lead members through baseline measurement, strategic identification of impact projects, implementation, and reporting. Chosen candidate will gain valuable experience in the application of sustainable strategies in a variety of business settings, will develop a customized business approach that resonates with executives, and will work with a growing nonprofit organization transforming a 70 billion dollar industry. Position is full time.
About PSC:
PSC is a highly productive nonprofit startup that accelerates environmental and social sustainability in the pet product/services industry through education, tools, project support and collaboration. The organization works closely with 65 members including brands, manufacturers and retailers to identify strategic impact opportunities that drive increased profitability. PSC is a project of Natural Capitalism Solutions, a world renowned sustainability consulting nonprofit based in Longmont, Colorado. PSC is also a B Lab partner (the nonprofit certifying body for B Corps) utilizing the B Impact Assessment and Quick Impact Assessment, a robust, benchmarked and holistic approach to measuring the social and environmental performance of businesses, and for driving improvement over time.
Primary Job Functions:
- Identification of sustainability improvement strategies related to operations, supply chain management, employee engagement, communications, and industry leadership
- Development of short-term and long-term sustainability roadmaps that outline steps for implementation of sustainability programs for member companies
- Collaboration with professional partners to implement impact projects
- Analysis of sustainability assessments and internal barriers for effective change management strategies
- Composition of case-studies and industry reports related to implementation projects to communicate replication, scalability, and successes to larger industry audience
- Consistent member encouragement and outreach
Additional Job Functions:
- Support communications efforts including press releases, ad campaigns, social media, webinars, and editorials
- Support industry outreach including travel to tradeshows, industry events, and networking sessions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-5 years’ experience in professional setting
- Strong writing, research, and presentation skills
- Project management experience:
- Ability to set attainable deadlines and bring project deliverables to completion
- Demonstrated leadership in a group setting
- Comfort with direct client communications
- Ability to move comfortably between strategic, analytic, and logistical tasks on a daily basis
- Familiarity with sustainable business strategies and organizational change management techniques
- Attention to detail, creative problem solving, and desire for meaningful work
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience with any type of sustainability implementation
- Preference given to local candidates
